For 44 days, I’ve seen buildings crumble like jenga pieces from bombs, cars swept up in flames and smoke, ground level shots of blood decorating the asphalt, and millions of refugees running for their lives; in tears, in fear and in pain, play across the screen. In this piece, the yellow light and blue shadow come together to form the Ukrainian flag as the collective identity, will and power of the people who run beneath it.
